Van Insurance
Whether you own a truck that you use for commercial purposes or for personal purposes, it is important that you get an insurance policy for it. For those who use their vans for their business, getting insurance is even more important because their business depends a lot on their vehicle. Also the insurance gives them a sense of safety and a sense of security. As an added benefit, lots of companies also provide insurance for the contents of the truck in the event of their being damaged or misplaced.
The model, size, and value of the van will factor into the kind of insurance that you would need to get. Another factor in the kind of policy is the amount of damages and losses that you would like covered. Transit Vans, Courier Vans, and Escort Vans are the most common kinds of vans insurances companies will cover.
There is three types of Commercial Truck Insurances, varying with respect to the coverage for different kinds of Damages plus losses. These three types are: Fully Comprehensive Insurance, Third Party fire plus theft Insurance plus Third Party Commercial Truck Insurance.
The most expensive is the Fully Comprehensive Insurance Cover, as it is an all-encompassing policy covering any kind of damage to your van. Key features of this coverage are: the liability for death or injury to any people in the van, property of the other party should it be damaged, and damages to your van from accidents, theft, vandalism or fire. Another often-included item of comprehensive coverage is a replacement van, and liability for any personal effects or tools in the van at the time it was damaged. Medical and legal expenses also are covered up to a certain amount, depending on the company that the van was insured.
The comprehensive cover of most of the companies also provides a Replacement truck, plus liability for personal possessions plus other tools in the truck. Legal plus Medical expenses are also covered up to a specific amount, which varies with different companies. This cover is most suitable for Transit Vans as it provides safety for the vehicle, passengers plus also the contents.
Third Party theft and Fire Insurance covers you if there is damage or losses caused by vandalism, accidents, fire, theft and explosions. Damage caused by a third party by your van is also covered. However, even though it gives you complete coverage for the losses to the third party, just how much or how it does this for the van and driver depend on what caused the accident in the first place. For example, you wouldn?t be covered for anything if you van hits another vehicle in which that driver has no insurance.
Third Party Insurance gives coverage just for damages to the third party. This kind costs the least, but is also the most basic of all the types of insurance. This is recommended for van owners who have vehicles whose value is not really high enough to be worth covering. But, since having insurance is required, it still saves money because it fulfills that requirement. Additional types of insurance other than those above include optional coverage such as Replacement Van, Foreign Use and Increased Personal damage and increased third party theft. Any of these can be added to regular policies just by paying the additional fees required.
