It is said by the US department of Transportation that 99.5 percent of every 2 million bags that people bring at the airport arrive with the passenger on the same flight. That leaves 5 per cent that are mishandled, which means that the bags don’t arrive with the passenger, arrive damaged or arrive with items missing. Consider this a negligible statistic but 5 percent of 2 million bags are about 10,000 bags.
